Did Bush himself pull the trigger on the firing of U.S. Attorney?

The Washington Post today carries an op-ed piece by Alberto Gonzales on his innocence in any political hanky-panky regarding the firing of U.S. Attorneys. The Justice Department has also released an advanced copy of Gonzales' statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee at which he will appear Tuesday. While Gonzales is busy protesting his innocence today, the Albuquerque Journal is running a story that traces the affair involving at least one of the attorneys fired right to the White House.
